Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve '09 in our new jammies waiting for Santa!

Halloween '09

We spent part of Halloween at Jake's game so I dressed the kids up for the day. We got a lot comments on how cute they were and some boos because of our team. We did trunk or treat then went around the neighborhood and visited grandpa and grandma. It was a good day!

Final Game!

This was Jake's last game. We went out of town and missed his team party so this is the only picture we have of his team. He recieved the MVP award, he even got a special trophy. He was very excited to say the least. Can't wait till next season. You did awesome buddie!

Getting Up To Date!

As usual I am playing catch up because I am behind. Right now our lives basically consist of Adam working out of town and football.

Everyone is gracious and asks how Adam working out of town is going and my answer is......"it is what it is". We are very fortunate that Adam can stay with his sister, that in itself is a huge blessing! I am grateful for the safety he has had traveling but I am a little concerned for the coming months and traveling in bad weather. I guess we will keep our fingers crossed and say our prayers. We keep getting into accidents so I am a little leery. Some guy hit me the other day and the worst part is he has no insurance. Thankfully the Pilot isn't too bad.

Jake has excelled at football. Hopefully without being too boastful I can say he's.... amazing! I have lost count of touchdowns and tackles. He loves intercepting the ball and now he looks to strip the ball whenever possible. I am most proud of his leadership qualities and how humble he has been. Despite being the quarterback and doing well he is a great team captain and encourages and helps lead his team very well. Thank you to all the friends and family that continue to come to games and support him, it's meant a lot to all of us!

We celebrated Paige's 2nd birthday. It was fun to have her get excited this year. We got her a little 4 wheeler and she loves it. Rudy and Heather got her a B.Y.U. cheerleading outfit, so cute. And grandma Bel got her a plethora of dress up shoes that she lives in. Grandpa and grandma Shaffer got her an apron that is so adorable, I love it! Adam's parents got her this huge stuffed bear that has to go with us every where!

She is talking more and more every day, and is tons of fun and full of energy. She is in to everything, and never slows down, thank goodness for nap time!

Brysen is hanging tough. He has to wait for basketball to start and he is feeling a little neglected since we didn't get him signed up for flag football. He is going great in school and loves to learn. I think he struggles the most with Dad gone, he talks about him all the time, it's sweet.

We have a tradition the first day of school every year. I make chocolate chip pancakes and then they take pictures outside and show what grade they are going into with their fingers, Paige had to get in on it of course!

Some friends gave us some tickets to the B.Y.U. Football game the other weekend. We had a good time. For someone that hated watching sports, I think I have become a real trooper!
Our school does an art contest every year and Jake decided to take some pictures, I thought I would post a few. I think he did a great job and he had a lot of fun doing it. Brysen is going to do some drawings, I will have to post those when he does them.

More Football!

He is LOVING all of this!

So, we found out last night that Jake got on the team we were hoping for and the coach we wanted! We are excited for him. I am a proud mamma. He hurt his hand last night and he was great about it. It was swollen and bruised enough that I thought it might be broken, but Adam says he's fine! Way to be tough Jake!

Jake's pretty fast and a lot of the kids had a hard time catching him when the were running tackle drills. There was one kid that got a hold of his pants and wasn't going to let go. Jake was dragging him, holding on to the ball and his pants all at the same time. It was pretty funny, he managed to keep his pants up for the most part!

Are You Ready For Some Football??!!!

Saturday we signed Jake up for tackle football. It took a few hours to get all his gear and get registered but we made it!!! I had to take some pics. To be honest, I can't wait to watch him play!!!
(love the tough face)

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

We took this a few weeks ago, thought I would let my parents see a family picture since we never get one taken. It's not professional but it's better than nothing. Here ya go mom...just for you!

The boys are still doing great with track. The have been excited to win some of their races. Paige is getting smarter and getting more attitude with every passing day.

We are looking forward to going to the Robinson reunion soon.

I had my first Sweet Pea Acc. boutique. It was a great success, so thanks to everyone that came!

Run .....Run!

The boys had their first track meet last night. It was looooong! But of course fun. They did great. They were out of their comfort zone and did amazing, we were so proud of them.
Jake was first in the 200 meters in his group, which he was very excited about.
Brysen did awesome, he shot out and ran so fast. His short little legs have never worked so hard.
They both ran the 100 & 200 meters and did long jump. We were there for 2 1/2 hours! Yikes. Poor Paige and mom and dad are going to have to be brave!
Is there anything better than watching your kids participate in something, I think not?

bUsY bEe

So I have decided in these hard economic times to start a little side business, brilliant I know! So I have been crazy making hair clips. It's been a blast. Who knows if anyone will even like what I have made, but it's worth a shot, right?

Well, I have been wanting to make Paige a tu tu, and I finally did last night. It's adorable...and she won't wear it! In an attempt to make it appealing I tried it on. Before you go imagining what that looks like and think to your self how would that fit her....it's one that ties. No such luck on motivating Miss P. Maybe it will grow on her!

Earth Day

In celebration of our approaching Earth Day I thought I would post this link that I got from a fellow "green friend" (thanks Tam). I know that it's hard to always know what's recyclable and what's not. So, this site helps you figure that out. We should all be filling up our blue cans at least twice as fast as our garbage! Keep It Green! http://www.obviously.com/recycle/guides/common.html
